ORIGIN OF THE BEAN
A peaberry is a small round bean purposely screened out during the sorting process. Normally the fruit of the plant develops with two halves of a bean in a single cherry, but sometimes only one develops and is oval in shape. This oval or pea shaped seed is called a peaberry. Some believe it roasts more efficiently for a pleasing flavor.
This coffee is grown in the Southern Highlands of the Mbeya region where coffee is typically inter-cropped with bananas.
