ORIGIN OF THE BEAN
Tanzanian Arabica coffees are grown on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in the northern areas under the shade of banana trees. A peaberry is a small round bean purposely screened out during the sorting process. Normally the fruit of the plant develops with two halves of a bean in a single cherry, but sometimes only one develops and is oval in shape. This oval or pea shaped seed is called a peaberry. Some believe it roasts more efficiently for a pleasing flavor.
